Native Habitat:  Africa: southeastern Nigeria over western and southwestern Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea to northwestern Gabon. Occurs in quiet parts of brooks and small streams in the coastal rainforest on tertiary and quaternary sedimentary soil.
Temperament:    Timid and prefers well-planted aquariums. Therefore best kept in trios, rather than pairs.
Feeding:    Some flake foods high in protein and adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as grindal worms, white worms, Daphnia, Moina, and newly hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:    Males more colorful and with display fins
Comments:    Very easy first killifish for hobbyist. Non-annual plant spawners. See Chromaphyosemion.
