Native Habitat:  Central Africa: lower Little Scarcies river drainage in western Sierra Leone southward to the drainage system of the lower Lofa river in western Liberia. Occurs in pools, brooks, swamps and small streams, mainly in the shallow and stagnant parts in the coastal rainforest
Temperament:    Males are a little aggressive, certainly when breeding with females. Therefore best kept in trios, rather than pairs. Larger fry have been known to eat their smaller siblings.
Feeding:    Some flake foods high in protein and adult brine shrimp, along with live foods such as grindal worms, white worms, Daphnia, Moina, and newly hatch brine shrimp nauplii
Sexing:    Males more colorful and with display fins
Comments:    A little difficult as a first killifish. Very hardy and prolific non-annual plant spawner
